CREW Allegations Totally Fabricated

ALLEGATION:

In 2007-2008 CREW labeled Steve Pearce one of the most Corrupt Members of Congress. The faulty allegations are itemized below:

THE TRUTH

A newspaper found the CREW charges to be FALSE, and in 2008, CREW admitted it erred in its assertions.

CLAIM #1: Allegedly failed to properly report a transaction on his financial disclosure report. FALSE.

THE TRUTH:

Steve voluntarily asked for direction from the House Ethics Committee regarding his reports, and was told in writing that the reports were exactly correct (letter attached).

CREW’s charge is FALSE. Steve Pearce sought direction from the House Ethics Committee at the time of the transaction, and received a letter from the House Ethics Committee stating that the report was precisely correct and legal, because House members are not obligated to disclose "transactions that involve the assets of a business that is actively involved in a trade or business." CREW is either ignorant or chooses to disregard the financial disclosure rules. This has been confirmed by both the Democrat-chaired Ethics Committee and independent newspapers. When reporters investigated the CREW charge, they agreed the CREW charge was FALSE.

CLAIM #2: Allegedly Traded Legislative Assistance for campaign contributions. FALSE.

THE TRUTH:

Roll Call, a Washington newspaper, investigated this and other claims, and wrote, “we have found no evidence that Pearce has taken any legislative action to specifically benefit” the companies in question.

Later that year, CREW responded with a press release admitting its allegations were wrong and it had failed to report the facts.It further stated that Pearce followed the law.It finally admitted its position that it wanted the law to read differently than it actually does.

CREW has knowingly and maliciously decided to repeat its FALSE charges.

What is CREW?

CREW is a Clinton, Obama, Pelosi, Democrat Party aligned organization that predominantly targets Republicans. Its Executive Director, who actually started the organization, previously worked for Democrats Joe Biden, Chuck Schumer and John Conyers. The staff of CREW are mostly former Labor Union activists and Democrat political activists.
