Will Teague Denounce Rationing?
HOBBS, NM – The White House announced Tuesday that President Obama will circumvent the Senate and use a recess appointment to name Donald Berwick as the administrator of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. Berwick in the past has professed an admiration of Britain’s National Health Service as an ‘example’ the United States should follow.
In a June 2009 interview with Biotechnology Healthcare, Berwick said, "The decision is not whether or not we will ration care — the decision is whether we will ration with our eyes open."
“Harry Teague should immediately denounce this appointment by the President and take a firm position against rationing. Rationing will put our seniors ‘ Medicare at risk and they deserve better,” said former Congressman Steve Pearce.
