Shrinking Government

Joe the Plumber…

…says we are just doing our civic duty when we gather to protest.

He pointed out the tea parties are not about Republicans or Democrats but about Americans.

He spoke in Roswell, Hobbs and Carlsbad yesterday.  We were on the same podium at each of the events.    Joe expresses things I greatly agree with.

He said we, each one of us, is responsible for the decline of our country and the dramatic move to socialism that is occurring.  He points out that most of us have been politically inactive for the better parts of our lives but now Americans are alert and engaged.  He asked us all what we had done before this year to back our values, where we had spent money getting a message out  helping a candidate or volunteering.

He declares it is not just our right to be involved politically that it is our responsibility as Americans to be involved politically.

Joe reminded each of the audiences that it is hard work to become educated on the issues, that he reads 2-3 hours a night catching up on things he should know about our Constitution,  our Founding Fathers, current policies and legislation.

He expresses well that if we are going to take back the country it will take hard work, dedication, sacrifice.  That is the only way it will happen.  We cannot just elect someone to go and try to take the country back in D.C. We need to be active, informed and involved, taking the country back at all levels.

How is it, he asks, that the left is concerned about taking the high moral ground where torture and the rights of terrorist are concerned and they have no moral qualms when they abort babies.  He got great applause when he said he would torture to get secrets that would save American lives.

Education is more the responsibility of parents than of teachers, teachers can’t correct at school what parents are NOT doing at home.

He also drew great laughter when he said the P.C. means more than Political Correctness…it stands for Political Castration.  Right on brother.

He correctly pointed out the media’s willingness to help the political corruptness in DC.  He used the example of Sen Dodd who spent 2 weeks denying an action, then when he could deny it no longer said he was responsible but that no one could do anything about it…just at that sticky point for Dodd, the news suddenly became about Pirates and them taking ships.

Joe said, “Pirates have been around forever, what’s the big deal, they take a ship, you shoot the pirate and get back to the news about Dodd saying the American people can do nothing about his back room deals, lying and corruption.”

Joe is a breath of fresh air.

I often say in my speeches that I believe God raises up men and women in every generation to lead us, that we just have to do our part.  We have to become informed, begin to speak out defending our values, our faith and our freedom.  I always point out none of us know which of us will be chosen by God to be a leader, that is not for us to worry about but it is our duty to speak and be involved.

Joe is a good example of this.  He is an ordinary guy, just a plumber, who dared to speak up. Now he has gone to over 100 Tea Party events across the country to carry his message of Personal Responsibility. Personal Involvement.  He is a leader, giving hope and wisdom and encouragement to citizens who are hungry for leadership.
