Victims Are Owed Justice In A Deliberate Manner On A Prompt Timetable

HOBBS, NM – The recent shooting at Fort Hood in Texas, which claimed the lives of thirteen individuals and one unborn child, deserves a prompt and thorough investigation from all authorities involved.  Steve Pearce supports both the prosecution of the shooter to the fullest extent of the law and the calls for through federal and congressional investigations into the events that led to last week’s attack.

“While we continue to mourn the lives that were tragically lost last week, we must remember that we owe it the victims and their families to get to the bottom of what happened at Fort Hood,” former Congressman Steve Pearce said.

Pearce continued, “There have been troubling reports indicating that the perpetrator of this attack was well-known to authorities for his ties to Islamic extremists.  Just like the prosecution of the Oklahoma City bombings, the wheels of justice should move promptly.  I expect his swift prosecution, but also support the calls by Senator Lieberman and others for a full investigation into the matters relating to the shooting.  We must learn from any mistakes we made so that horrific massacres like this are prevented in the future.”
