Has voter support from all across 2nd Congressional District

HOBBS, NM - Documents were officially filed today in Santa Fe with the Secretary of State’s office to have Steve Pearce placed on the ballot as a candidate for Congress in New Mexico’s Second District.

This morning Pearce’s nominating petitions with more than 2,200 voter signatures from all across the Congressional District were filed with the Secretary of State.   This far exceeds the filing requirement of 402 signatures.

Former Congressman Steve Pearce stated, “New Mexicans are responding tremendously to our message that the focus in Washington must be on growing the economy and creating jobs. The way we do that is by controlling spending and cutting taxes for businesses and individuals. That is the time tested way to create jobs.”
Pearce added, “Unfortunately, the current Congress believes that jobs can be created by increasing government spending for programs. We cannot spend our way to prosperity - - - I will take that message to Washington.”
Over the next couple weeks, Pearce or campaign representatives will be speaking at the Republican County Conventions throughout the 2nd District.
