Teague Goes Negative On Radio to Hide Indefensible Record
HOBBS, NM – Congressman Harry Teague has launched another round of negative attack ads across New Mexico’s 2nd District. This new radio ad follows weeks of negative, misleading attack ads by Teague’s liberal, pro Cap and Trade friends, the Defenders of Wildlife.
“It is now clear that Congressman Teague acknowledges his support of big government, liberal policies has failed. Teague can’t boast about a failed stimulus bill or a job killing cap and trade bill so Teague and his friends must resort to false and misleading ads,” said Pearce campaign spokesman Jason Heffley.
Teague’s new radio attack ad claims Steve Pearce is a career politician that took congressional pay raises and doesn’t support veterans. What the ad doesn’t tell you is that Congressman Teague has been in politics far longer than Steve Pearce (Teague, as an elected official, actually appointed Pearce to his first public service board), that Steve is a combat veteran himself with a long history of support for veterans and that Steve Pearce like Congressman Teague voted against congressional pay raises.
Heffley continued, “Voters in New Mexico are worried about jobs and the economy. Congressman Teague and his friends should spend more time focusing on getting New Mexicans back to work and less time on negative ads and misleading voters.”
